FAQ of the Peninsula Rifle & Pistol Club

  1. All firearms will be pointed down range at all times, unless in a rack, case or holstered. If Holstered they will NOT be in the "cocked and locked" condition.
  2. No one will handle a firearm on the firing line when a person is forward of the white firing line.
  3. The range safety officer will give all commands and will be responsible for the safe operation of the firing line. He will be responsible for ensuring ALL club rules are adhered to. The Range Safety Officer is defined as:
    1. The person running an organized match or person designated by the match director.
    2. The authorized key holder who opened the range for non-scheduled shooting.
  4. Targets will be positioned at the target line only. No metal target holders, other than the wire presently in use, are authorized. You may use your own wood target stands, but must clean up any splinters/chips created.
  5. Paper targets are the only targets authorized for use on the range. There will be no steel or other metal targets used on the range at any time.
  6. No center fire magnum loads allowed to be fired on ANY target point.
  7. NO Center fire rifles are to be fired for any reason on the indoor range.
  8. Fire only as fast as you can keep all shots on the target. No "Spray and Pray"
  9. Persons using the range for non-scheduled shooting are required to sign in on the form posted by the light switches, giving date, time in, time out, and names of any guests.
  10. Keys are to be used only by the persons who signed for them. They are not to be loaned to another person or left with another person to lock the range when they leave. The key holder that opens the range for non-scheduled shooting is responsible for ensuring the range is properly "shut down" and locked. He may turn control of the range over to another authorized key holder only.
